Puerto Vallarta

Banderas Bay is Mexico's largest natural bay and home to Puerto Vallarta's many great destinations. It includes over 40 miles of coastline that stretches from Punta de Mita to Cabo Corrientes. Each area is special in its own way and adds to the charm, diversity and uniqueness of the Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta Area.

While the huge trophy fish generally prefer the cooler waters of the Pacific, just outside of banderas bay, they do occasionally venture into the bay.

Inside Banderas Bay, you'll find a huge variety of fish. Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, 50 lb. Tuna, Wahoo, Snapper, Grouper, Roosterfish, Amberjack, Mackeral, in addition to dozens of other varieties await you. Whether you prefer bottom fishing, trolling, or are simply a recreational fisherman who just wants to be on the water, this is a great destination.

El Banco

The Banks is the most celebrated and talked about fishing site for Vallarta fishing.

El Banco / The Banks is one of the premier fishing sites in the Banderas Bay area. Located approximately 50 miles northwest of Marina Vallarta/ El Banco is an area where the structure of the sea floor meets the surface and it lies in the migratory path of the Yellowfin Tuna.

La Corbetena

La Corbetena is world famous as a fantastic fishing destination.

Located about 38 miles from Marina Vallarta, La Corbetena is an undersea mountaintop surrounded by acres of smaller tuna and other "bait fish" for the bigger game fish that will challenge any angler.

El Morro

A group of rock pinnacles with some of the most exciting fishing.

Rock pinnacles covered with barnacles and marine growth rise to form El Morro. This is yet another well-known and excellent fishing destination in Banderas Bay which is located about six miles from the Marietas Islands.

Located just off the north end of Banderas Bay are the Marietas Islands.

These small islands, seen above the bays surface, are the top peaks of an underwater mountain range rising steeply up from the deep blue waters of Banderas Bay.

El Faro

When the fishing isn't going on at Corbetena, it is often found at El Faro.

El Faro is located at the far south end of Banderas Bay. This is a great place for catching sailfish, tuna, mahi-mahi, and numerous other types of bay fish.
